•
Successful implementation of the
program “Visible FeltSafety Leadership,”
in which company executives
and supervisors reinforce their competence
in this
area and transmit safe
work practices.
• Observance of the Golden
Rules, which summarize basic standards
and
procedures that all workers
must follow to avoid serious accidents.
These rules are
the product of the accumulated
experience of Anglo American and other mining
companies in accident
prevention and risk control.
• Successful implementation
of “Behavior Based Safety Programs,”
applied in
all company divisions
to promote workers’ active participation
in maintaining an
accident free environment
through encouraging self-management techniques.
• Successful implementation
of the Anglo Safety Way, a new
safety system
developed by the Anglo
American Group that establishes safety requirements
for
all company operations
in the form of 12 basic standards.
• Improvements in registering,
investigating and reporting accidents, through
the identification
of near-accidents and the use of “accidentagrams,”
a communication
model that facilitates
an understanding and description of the
causes of accidents.
• Improvements in the safety
standards of our subcontractors,
in order to bring
them into line with Anglo
American Chile’s own high standards.
